Lorraine Greaves is the Executive Director of the British Columbia Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health at BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre in Vancouver, Canada.  She is a sociologist, writer and researcher and has been working on girls’ and women’s tobacco issues for 20 years. Lorraine Greaves engages with both the tobacco control movement and the women’s movement, linking scholars, practitioners, activists and policy makers to reduce women’s tobacco use and improve women’s status. She has authored numerous books, articles, chapters and reports on women, gender, addiction, smoking, tobacco policy, smoking & vulnerable groups, pregnancy and low income. Her first book, Smoke Screen: Women's Smoking and Social Control, received an award in 1997 from the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women.
