INWAT Members’ Meeting and Report Launch - Agenda

The members’ meeting will not only address INWAT business, it will also feature a Presentation by Yumiko Mochizuki-Kobayashi and a launch of the new report titled: Turning a New Leaf: Women, Tobacco, and the Future.  This report has been produced with contributions by many authors around the world, financed mainly by Health Canada and led by the British Columbia Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health in partnership with INWAT.

The INWAT Award Recipients in the categories of Lifetime Achievement and INWAT Achievement will be honoured during the INWAT Members’ Meeting scheduled Thursday, July 13, 2006, 12:30pm-1:15pm.

INWAT will be hosting a press conference to cover the following news items:

  • Welcoming new President Lorraine Greaves and saying farewell to Margaretha Haglund.
  • Feature: the new report named Turning a New Leaf: Women, Tobacco and the Future, Cathy  Sabiston, Director General of Health Canada
  • Human Rights, Women’s Rights and Tobacco Control Today by Patricia Lambert
  • Tobacco use among women in the developing world by Mira Aghi
